Well, sort of.

An alleged drunk driver hit a laundromat in downtown Los Angeles, reports KTLA. It is unknown whether the driver brought detergent along.

The incident involving the Honda Accord occurred in downtown Los Angeles when the alleged drunk driver, a 27-year-old female, lost control of her car, crossed over some lanes and hit a parked van. After that, the car ricocheted into the laundromat.

There were three passengers in the driver’s vehicle as she drove down Venice. The most seriously injured among the passengers was a 17-year-old.

Dodgers pitcher Ronald Belisario had to play in Venezuela instead of with the Dodgers because of a drug issue and previous DUI problems, reports The Orange County Register. Belisario had visa issues in 2009 because of the DUI arrest that occurred in Pasadena.

As many Californians are aware, getting in any sort of criminal trouble can have a terrible effect on your work visa. In Belsario's DUI, drunk driving charges were avoided by his lawyer getting the charges reduced to reckless driving, reports The Los Angeles Times. A similar approach to the drunk driving charges was taken recently by wide-receiver Hines Ward.

Teresa Giudice, the reality show housewife, who is on this year’s Celebrity Apprentice, as reported by New York Daily News, is not the only one in the family bringing the drama.

A seventy-four-year old drunk driver in Inglewood allegedly ran down a fifty-five-year-old in a crosswalk, reports the Contra Costa Times.

The septuagenarian — John Solomon of Los Angeles — was going north on Grevillea when he allegedly struck Lorraine Joskowitz. Witnesses say that John Solomon failed to stop for a stop sign. As a result of the accident Lorraine Joskowitz suffered major head trauma.

Police arrested Solomon on suspicion of drunk driving.

UCLA may be the newest school to join a multi-campus collaboration to prevent, and promote alternatives to, college drinking and driving, reports Physorg.com.

Led by UC Irvine in partnership with the RADD College DUI Awareness Program, the consortium was funded by a $451,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety and is currently comprised of nine campuses - UC Davis, Cal State Sacramento, University of Southern California, Cal State Fullerton, San Diego State, UC San Diego, the University of San Diego and Cal State San Marcos. It works to reduce the number of DUIs involving students.

The memories of the victims of a 2009 DUI crash, including Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart, will be honored this Saturday with the unveiling of a commemorative wall near Big Marine baseball field in Manhattan Beach, reports CBS Los Angeles.

Adenhart was only 22-years-old and had just realized his big league dreams when he, girlfriend Courtney Frances Stewart, and friend Henry Pearson perished in a DUI crash in Fullerton. Several hours before the crash, Adenhart had pitched six scoreless innings at Angel Stadium in his season debut with his father in the stands.

An alleged drunk driver slammed into a church van early Saturday morning, sending 12 people to the hospital, reports KABC-TV.

Los Angeles police report that the suspected drunk driver’s black BMW rear-ended the van at 4 a.m. near 6th Street and Western Avenue in Los Angeles’ Koreatown. News reports claimed the church van was from New Life Vision Church in Arlington Heights, but LAPD did not confirm it.

Although some news reports stated that only 11 people were injured and all suffered minor injuries, KABC-TV reported that an additional victim was in critical condition.

A top civilian official for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has been making headlines for her reported DUI arrest.

CHP officers reportedly arrested Natalie Salazar on suspicion of drunk driving after they allegedly found her passed out in the middle of the Foothill Freeway on Friday, reports KTLA News.

Officers claim Salazar was asleep with her head on the wheel, her foot on the brake pedal, and the car in drive. The vehicle she was in was reportedly the property of Los Angeles County.

While World Boxing Council middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez’s most recent opponent accuses him of using performance enhancing drugs, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department claims he was caught driving under the influence of alcohol.

Chavez was reportedly arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of DUI during the early morning of Jan. 22, according to BoxingScene.com. Sheriff’s deputies had pulled him over for a routine traffic stop when they allegedly detected a strong smell of alcohol in Chavez’s vehicle.

Every once in a while taking a blood-alcohol content test could save you from a DUI even if you appear drunk. It worked for Christina Aguilera’s boy-toy, Matthew Rutler, and now it appears to have worked for Dodgers’ first baseman James Loney.

Prosecutors dropped DUI charges against Loney after a blood test came back negative, reports NBC Sports.

Taran Noah Smith, a former child actor from the 90s on the popular TV show "Home Improvement," was arrested early Wednesday morning on suspicion of DUI and drug possession, reports the Huffington Post.
